Default Link Pushing?

Just read in a thread that link wheels are starting to become obsolete and link pushing is replacing link wheels. Can we debate?

How does link pushing work?

How effective is it?

First I need someone to tell me what 'link pushing' is.

Attached is a pretty basic link push.

A few warriors here have followed this with great results. Link wheels used to be extremely powerful, and they aren't necessarily bad right now... it is just the decay, and how you link them that make the difference. Either way, I will choose a link push over a link wheel anyday.

Cool thanks.. So pretty much it differs from a link wheel in the sense that there is no interlinking?

Link pushing is also known as building link pyramids. It's basically the same where you build links to your links.

Not exactly the same... but kinda the same concept. A link push typically consists of a lot more web 2.0 sites, articles, press releases, doc sharing sites... you don't even do profiles, blog comments, or bookmarks until you're on the 4th tier.

Yes, but it comes under gray hat SEO so you have to think of it.

How do you figure? Do you think building link in general is under grey hat?
