I've just been messing around with the keyword tool's categories section. I'd just set the minimum local exact searches at 1500, minimum approx CPC at $1, click a section, and dump all of the keywords into godaddy search to see if EMD is available. My question is: how do I know when to continue with a keyword? I've seen plenty of keywords that are dominated first page by online retailers like Amazon, Target, Sears, etc. Can I beat them? What's the typical sign that a keyword will be relatively simple to rank with? |

If those Amazon, Target, Sears pages are PR 0 with 0 backlinks then they are easy targets. Try some out and get a feel for it. Then go for kws with higher searches.
