Stupid, simple question about Google search

I'm not sure what it's even called so I didn't have much luck searching the forum. But where does Google pull the information from that they post when you are looking at organic searches. Mine is blank and I didn't know where to have my web guy add info. Does that populate itself or is that the page meta-description or something?

Yep. Once you get indexed, you'll be good. Remember to keep it about 160 characters or less.

Also make sure to write something that is clickable, not something boring.

Of course meta tags but try to create meta tags with nice information. First of all choose the targeted keywords related to your site, Prepare title with your targeted keywords and make description with nice information including your keywords.
