I would like know difference between rss feeds and social bookmarking

do rss feeds create extra backlinks for you?

i think bookmark demon can help make social bookmarking process faster
can bookmarking demon also help make rss feeds

is bookmark demon not for only social bookmark but for rss feed too?

RSS feeds are about a 6 maybe 8 year-old way of distributing content rapidly ( it might be longer it has been so long since I have considered them ). RSS feeds were basically the predecessor of XML feeds.

The most common use of an RSS feed was to rapidly distribute content sometimes including links. Their most appropriate use was for news deployment in which sites would place RSS feed content on their homepage or any page they wanted to have fresh content on. Eventually this led to SPAM

in the past yes, but they had a very short lifespan because the feed is constant and your link eventually disappears ( it typically does not archive like a blog ).

I know nothing of - bookmark demon - so I cannot speak on it.

However, I would strongly advise you: Not make any radical changes to your site right now in terms of rapid content deployment ( RSS feeds , blog commenting , automated link blast software ). right now we are still seeing the effects of global panda. I strongly believe( I am nearly certain ) that the primary goal of global panda is the elimination of what has become a SPAM Fest of article writing, link bombing, and overall TRASH content that has been deployed over the last five years feeling Google to the brim with Link-SPAM

RSS and Social Bookmarks do share a number of similar traits, however they are distinctly different technologies. How they are created and used are very different even though they share many attributes along with the same general purpose of generating more traffic to your website.

They both include a Title, a Description in the form of a text snippet, and a Link back to the source web document. So, yes they share the same goal of generating backlinks to drive targeted traffic to your website. RSS feeds are created using a standardized format of XML markup, while Social bookmarks are standard text stored in databases, and displayed as lists on web applications. You can use the exact same content for both, but will generally get better results if you make each post unique.

RSS files are intended to be syndicated and are used in many different ways by those choosing to subscribe to the syndicated feeds.

Social Bookmarks are shared within the community that develops at the individual Social Bookmarking websites.

Both technologies can generate indirect backlinks that do have significant SEO value.
