Is it possible to optimize my root domain?

I want the root domain of my url to be my sales page as my url has my keyword in it. I want to direct traffic to my root domain. In wordpress though I'm not seeing a way to insert the meta information for the root domain, I am only finding these options on pages and posts. This concerns me because if I am building backlinks to my root domain I don't know if it will be optimized with my desired keywords.

If I make a sticky post for my homepage, will that posts' meta information count as the root domains info? In other words, I don't want to have my url be www.mykeyword.com/mykeyword . I know this may be confusing but thanks for any help.

I believe when I just used a sticky post, it showed that sticky post meta for the root domain.

To be sure, just download Platinum SEO plugin (free), go into the options and add the meta info you want there.

I use the all in one seo plugin but there is no way to enter meta info on the root domain, only on posts and pages. Are you sure that Platinum seo allows you to add meta info to the root domain?
