Hi all, I have a good-ranking blog post from this time last year that I have updated with a small bit of new information. I would like to bring this post to the forefront of my blog again (as it is seasonally-related), would updating the post date from a year prior to today's date cause me any problems from an SEO standpoint? ![]() Thanks for your help! |

I would make a new blog post talking about the updates with a link back to your original post.

I agree with Jay. A new post will add a new page to your blog, give another link to your already well-ranking post and give you the chance to rank with 2 URLs for the same term. I am not sure about changing the date on your post. There is no user benefit, although Google is sometimes sensitive to publishing dates. If you want the blog on your front page, you can always make it sticky, or create a widget in your sidebar, etc. |
