ODesk & Article Writing

Hi, I am new to this forum, was recommended by my son and I am loving what I am seeing. Lots of helpful info.

My son also recommended ODesk and I am in the process of interviewing for backlinks.

I have been reading about others experiences here and see that others use them for all kinds of stuff.

I am interested in maybe having some articles written. But how well does that work? How will they know what to write about? Say, plumbing (my husbands website) or I have 2 websites & 3 blogs, 1 website is specializing in premature babies and the other in organics.

Do you pay a flat fee for that? They must have to do a ton of research?

You experience would be much appreciated.

I have used ODesk and usually you have to give them your topic, plus the list of keywords you want in the articles.

Generally speaking, look for someone with good writing skills and corresponds to you in perfect English. Many times someone will say they speak English, but writing in
English is quite different.

I used a copywriter from California who was a professional marketing guy..a bit expensive for one project but well worth it. The squeeze page and sales page he wrote were fantastic!

If you have the money, you can always test several writers w/ the same set of instructions. If one, or even a few of them, excel, you'll have someone that you can go back to for future projects. You can use the articles from the less qualified writers in other walks of your internet marketing process. There are definitely writers on ODesk that can provide what you need; it's all about finding them.

It depends on who you ask really. If you are looking for quick content, geared towards SEO, etc, you will find plenty of cheap articles all over the place.

However, there are some freelance writers you will find here that produce much higher quality and would not even think about working for bidding sites and consider themselves professional writers and not content-producers. It all depends on what you are willing to spend for quality. But, you will find plenty of people here (Warriors for Hire) that are willing to work for only $5 articles.
