Hi Background: I am currently having 40 websites made that will start with 3 articles on them, all EMD, min 1000 exact searches etc etc (base parameters that everyone talks about) They will be monitized with adsense and will be pretty low hanging fruit in terms of competition so should be quite easy to rank. Now my plan is to add content regularly myself to these sites and perhaps outsource the off site SEO (backlinks) Herein lies some of the confusion. It seems that everyone has all kinds of differing theories and methods concerning the right ways to build backlinks. Examples: link pyramids, multi tiers, direct backlinking, types of backlinks, varying anchor texts, high PR, profile links blah blah etc etc. In addition, there are all kinds of differing views as to which kinds of links actually work well and which are useless.....and it goes on and on Anyway, the outfit I have building the sites suggested that i begin with something like this: 1. directory submission 2. social bookmarks 3. profile links 4. blog comments 5. article directories Seeing as my keywords are essentiallly low hanging fruit- will this type of linkbuilding be sufficient for my needs? Also, because I am really only targetting my main kw- should i just have that kw as all my anchor text or should i attempt to somehow vary it or add other keywords? It seems to me that I should be ok with backlinking if i just go ahead and have a wide variety of links from all kinds of different sources- this way i am generally covered as far as all the differing opinions are concerned. Perhaps some people with some knowledge have some opinions they can offer in regards to the above? Trying to wrap my head around this so hopefully someone can help me out. Thanks |

| Yes this is the easiest and best way to get links to your low competition niche sites. I use this technique to rank for my niche sites.

When you're going after mass domains, you don't want to have to deal with off page SEO... you want such low competition that good on page will have you ranking well. I have clients that are interested in getting into the MFA thing, and I get 100 sites up for them, and make sure that the competition is low enough to not need to do off page SEO... now after a while you will see areas you can improve on in certain niches... maybe you're #5 for one domain... and you're making X amount but wanting to increase that, then you do spotty off site SEO. First step, keyword and competition research.. see how viable it is to be able to rank well without a single backlink. |

Build quality links period! Commenting, forum, profile links ect.. are not high quality. I know I will fly in the face of somebody but I'm ok with that. Those types of links suck. Build in content relevant links from aged domains. Only buy into the high pr hype if your link is actually ON the high pr page otherwise its not worth any more than any other link. Check out a few of these guys: Build my rank one way links Free Traffic System all three have good quality links that will last for a long time and keep your sites on top. Write super high quality original content, ad value to the internet, and use quality links with good on page SEO and you will do well for many years to come. Patrick |

2 of them were well back- like page 5 or something. I have found that i would really like to be in the top 3 in the SERPS if I can. So in this regard, it seems that i do need to get some links in order to a) achieve those ranks b) maintain those ranks

When it comes to all SEO everything is very technical. To make it simple focus on the quality of the link, not so much the quantity. If you have low hanging fruit, that is a great place to start. To really optimize, I recommend one keyword per article. You can can sprinkle others in the article, but focus the entire article around one keyword. You should backlink each page with the appropriate keyword, buy vary the text with supporting keywords to the main keyword. Use the Google wonder wheel to discover the supporting keywords. Search the main phrase you are targeting and the wheel will show you the supporting keywords. Just focus in on quality sites with rank and authority and you will do fine. |

1. directory submission 2. social bookmarks 3. profile links 4. blog comments 5. article directories good starting point especially if cheap. What I would do is first see how your domains rank without BL; then apply above strategy moderately and see how your SERP changes. Take it from there, push what needs to be pushed. |

Authority domains deserve quality links ****ty sites like the ones he is making will not get quality links, how will you get quality links to a site about a stainless steel four slot toaster?? I can find a low comp keyword, register an EMD toss up about 5 articles, get about 100 links from forums, comments, profiles, directories etc and make $5-$20 a day on adsense from the site. It is part of my strategy that got me to $9000 a month and growing!

Does this linkbuilding allow your sites maintain their positions well? - do you add further content regularly? Again- seems like a lot of differing ideas

If I were you, the first thing I would do from an off-site SEO perspective is to see what the competition is doing. Sure, you say it's a low-competition keyword, but obviously someone is ranking #1 for it. Take a look at the top 3 sites, and see if you can get any of the same links that they do (like submitting your link to the same directories, publishing stuff on the same article directories, etc) That way, you're building links *and* closing the gap on your competitors right from the start.
