There's been some debate about it, but the consensus seems to be that .com's are more valuable because they are being registered at higher prices than .info's at this time.

I actually dont know why people says that Google treat infos as spam but I have seen many dot info sites dominate the top positions of Google.I think that does not matter,It is all about how much useful is your site for the visitors and readers.

I think the issue with .com or .info is more of a trust factor in the users mind. People are more likely to trust .com over any other domain extension. How comfortable are you giving your credit card number to a .info site? |

i have always been able to rank better with .com's vs. net's and .org's. .info's would be even further down the line.
