How to check the competition of the keyword?

Hi Warrior's
Plz let me know that how to check the competion of any of the keyword,for example if i write some keyword there on google and click on search button then on what factors i should conside the most?

go to google and type in: google adwords keyword tool, and click on the fist one.

You can either use Market Samurai or Google Keyword tool.

Although one is a paid tool, both get the job done.

If you are using the google keyword tool, you can see how many searches a keyword phrase has. I always check "exact" and not "broad" over on the left side under "match types."

You will also be shown "competition" by a box that is filled in a certain amount. The less it's filled in, the better (the less competition there is.)

If you want some exact numbers for competition, go to google and type in the keyword phrase. See how many sites there. I always put "allintitle:keyword phrase" (not in quotes) which shows how many sites are optimized for their keywords in the title.

Article submission and blog comments can do good to competition of the keywords!

by looking the number of "competing pages" will not give you the truth competition data.

what you need to do is analyze the top ten page on the 1st page of google result. that's your real competitors.

just install SEO for FIREFOX addon, then analyze the PR and backlink page of those competitors

Some factors to determine how strong is a competitions :
- Number of results for "keyword"
- Top 10 results for "keyword"

If you have 2.0s on the top10, you can for example say it's an "easy" keyword.

Besides looking at the number of competitors for the keyword you are analyzing, you should look the strenght of the ones ranking at page one in order to see if you will be able to outrank them.
To do it, you can use a free tool called Niche Market Finder

I consider how well they are optimized for on-page, and then what kind of backlinks they have. If I think I can get better high PR backlinks (which usually I can), then I will try to outrank them.

The competition bar on the Adwords Tool doesn't show the SEO competition of the keyword, it shows the Adwords competition of the keyword. The green bar will tell you nothing about ranking for that keyword in the Google search engine.

Get the SEOQuake firefox add on, turn it on, search the keyword and use look at the PR, backlinks and age of the top 10 results in Google, that's a vague indicator of competition.

I use the SEO competition module in Market Samurai as well.

Another good tool - for checking competition of the word -SEMRush. Researching keywords is similar to MS, but SEMRush is cheaper.

I still use the google adsense keyword tool. It gives me enough of an indicator as to what is going on with most of the competition for the keyword.
