I have a site with 2 rectagular adsense blocks, 2 link units and 1 google search = total 5 adsense ad units. The length of my articles are usually around 500 words . I have been noticing that I lost rankings on many keywords. Does this had anything to do with the 5 adsense ad units I just recently implemented? I am pulling out my hairs thanks |

Hi there! This could be due to a number of reasons. Do you post articles daily or weekly, or are they just one off's? You need to keep fresh content up on the site almost daily. I doubt its to do with just having 5 adsense blocks on your site. Try looking at something called Heatmap Theme. Just do a search on here. Great at showing you where to incorporate ad placements. Hope this helps Cheers Chris |

You mentioned 5 Adsense blocks on your site. How many pages does your website have...and how many blocks on your site. I don't think Google will downgrade your site for Adsense blocks because that's one of their income streams. You just need to make sure you're providing fresh, relevant content. Also, how old is your site? If these downgrades are happening with a fairly new site or a new page that's just how Google does things, you can be on page one for a day or two and then page 7 or worse, then bounce back again in a day or two to page 2 or 3, etc. Give it a couple of weeks or more before making any decisions about changing anything. Best wishes, Chuck |

If you read the Google TOS it states that only THREE adsense blocks are allowed on a page.

"Google AdSense program policies allow you to place up to three ad units and three link units on any page." And then you can have a search box, as well. So you can potentially have 7 Adsense options displaying on each page. I very highly doubt that the Big G would penalize you for trying to make them money. I would scratch this off your list of possible reasons and, as other posters have suggested, look to increase your post frequency. | |

i doubt that this has anything to do with rankings but perhaps something else. it may be your backlnking strategy or something else that google has penalized you for. |

Has nothing to do with rankings. There is a way to have more than 3 ad blocks. Most people will be surprised that you can have many more ad blocks than 3 on your rss. Very easy to see if you have a blogger blog. Just enable adsense on the rss feed, put one ad below each post. Then take a gander at your rss feed. You'll see an ad block after each post. That is, unless google maxes it out. So, if you see 20 posts, you'll see 20 ad blocks. They reserve the right to make the list smaller. I've always been tempted to to design a site and redirect the domain to the rss feed. Have not been able to pull the string yet, but it is an interesting proposition to be sure. Paul |

According to Matt Cutts, having Adsense on your blogs doesn't affect your rankings... but then again - how do we know that he is telling the truth =)

I don't think this is due to the adsense block. This might be due to others reasons like no quality article or low SEO work.
