I've worked for weeks making backlinks on article directories, forums, and similar places. Yet, anytime I check my backlinks with tools it shows that I have ZERO backlinks. Anyone know why this is?? |

Backlinks often don't show up in tools. It is a waste of time to check to be honest. Why do my backlinks show up in a backlink checker but not in google webmaster? |

| No, tools like Yahoo Site Explorer and a couple of the free backlink checkers work better. There isn't a tool that will show you every single backlink you have with 100% accuracy, and even if their was, Google's webmaster tools is the furthest thing from it. Keep track of your backlinking campaigns themselves, and keep track of your position in the SERPs, and don't rely on backlink checkers too much. |

here's my situation: i checked the site included in my signature with some basic tool and I entered the URL, but before that I also included the www part and it showed I had no backlinks. In my case, I had to remove the www part. So, in what manner did you enter your site? Try including only the http part.

You're better off monitoring your position in the SERP's as opposed to your backlinks. As has been said, no tool is that accurate. Most people use Yahoo Site Explorer to check but it's still not that accurate. Just keep building them and check your SERP position to see if it's working. That's the ultimate goal anyway right?

Look at the Google Cache on the backlink page to verify random backlinks are picked up by Google, If you don't already see them in Yahoo Explorer.

In addition to above, it takes time for alexa and google to pick up those backlinks, just keep em coming. Good luck |

I would like to ask, Which tool do you use to check back links for your site? What I would like to suggest is set up Google webmaster tool for your website that will help you to check the back links more accurately. And if installed this one only and not showing the the back links the problem might be in the set up configuration, be sure set up is installed properly.
