Does Google give more credibility for popular links that have been clicked more than others? If yes more important for me to know how Google do it? |

popular links means by placing ad in sidebar. If that site has good traffic automatically your site has some unique visitors too. Thus your PR is also increased overtime if you have quality content.

Google places an importance on Bounce Rate, that is, how fast your visitors leave your website. This gives Google a clue as to how Relevant your page is for a specific keyword. A page can get 1000's of clicks, but if the bounce rate is really high (eg: 95%), it will most likely be lowered in ranking.

Guys thank for the help but let me rephrase the question: If we would compare two websites: Website A have 100 back links that generate 100 visitor with 50% bounce rate Website B have 100 back links that generate 2 visitor with 50% bounce rate 1. Does Google give extra value to the links that generate actual traffic? (Value from Google eyes point of view not from marketing perspective) |

Sites that use Google Analytics do record the referring page but I don't think Google Analytics is used widely enough to base rankings off it. Google does however measure the click through rate and possibly the bounce rate from their search results. If the searcher doesn't find the solution to their problem on your site then the searcher will return to their search results and click on a new result. It really doesn't matter if Google measures the CTR of the backlinks though: your focus should be getting your backlinks clicked as often as possible to create an alternative source of traffic that doesn't rely on an uncontrollable search engine. | |

It's a little bit like this: Google are like your parents. They look at who you hang out with and judge your accordingly. If you have credible and notable sites to link to, then Google considers you are responsible and "hanging out with the good kids on the block." If you link to sites that aren't relevant or have any sort of marginal content, then you will be considered as someone who doesn't know how to pick the right type of friends. This analogy, although simple, is very true of Google's judgements. In summary: Check your friends : ) |
