What is your favorite SEO Strategy?

Whenever I go into a forum looking for a healthy community that can answer my questions or just be a fun place to rough and tumble, I always expect the worst.
This community surprises me. You guys really know your stuff, and you're not a bunch of jokers that like to troll the hell out of each other till they cry.
Due to this, I'm interested in a different level of opinion; what is your favorite SEO technique? Why is this one technique your favorite?
And it can be for any reason. It could be because it's the most fun for you, it could be because you find it the most effective for what you do, it could even be because you just like the idea of it... it doesn't even have to work really well, you just have to like it, and I want to know why!
EDIT: and I want ONE technique, ONE tactic that you implement in the vast world of SEO that just really hits home in your heart and mind. I don't want a gigantic strategy, I just want one small (or big) thing you do that is SEO related that you really like.
It could be as simple as figuring out where you want your <h> tags for your page, and adding them. It could be the complex art of link-building.

I also like this forum the most out of all of the rest! My favorite.....is backlinking with high page rank blog comments. I enjoy it because I can see the most movement in my numbers with this technique. When you see movement you gotta love it. And second is posting in this forum of course!

New domain: social bookmarking, directory submission, article submission, profile links. Wait a month and do more work if needed

I prefer support blogs because they get indexed fast, you can add value to the links with additional linking support blogs and if you have blogs on you own domains they never get deleted such as forum profiles. Links are also relavant because you link from a relavant blog post.

Downside of the technique is that you need multiple IP for your support blogs and it is quite time(or money if you outsource) consuming to write articles for support blogs.

Our blog network gives us our biggest source of link juice. I like owning the sites as it guarantees us that the link will remain on the sites. We have private registration for each of the 3000 domains plus over 1000 separate c class ip's.

For a cheap fix you can use Article Marketing Robot to submit your spun plr articles to the network sites. Pretty simple to set up actually. I'm surprised more people are not doing this.

A little biased obviously, but my favorite would be blog commenting. Followed by forum posting. Blog commenting because I enjoy the "hunt" for high PR blogs that haven't been blasted to death by Scrapebox users. These usually require manual approval from the blog owner. But the benefit is a backlink without a ton of competition on a potentially high PR page. Plus I actually enjoy leaving a helpful comment and becoming a part of the blog.

Forum posting because it's a GREAT and often overlooked method of generating some quality traffic on a new site. Posting on a few high traffic, niche related forums can bring in a surprising amount of visitors. It's also one of the easiest ways to build a list at no cost. And it's always fun to help people, ask questions, answer questions, etc.

One of the best techniques in my opinion is to find niche related communities and blots and make an honest attempt at participating. Be sure not to spam and to take full advantage of things that the webmasters might allow such as forum signatures and links in username for comments.

4th step, AMR linking to money site

This is how I get things started. For maintaining I use build my rank, AMR, and manually commenting on high PR blog posts.

Oddly my forum posts never show up as backlinks on yahoo. I have found profile backlinks to be very effective. I also do directory submission, article submission, and link wheels. I've started blog commenting. I'm curious to see how that will pan out.

I write unique articles for buildmyranks and postrunner networks, I do this for the first few months at least only. I then use 1waylinks and AMR for using spun articles linking directly to my site. I also use 1waylinks to backlink any of the backlinks I have on buildmyranks and postrunner on root domains of PR3 and up.

I keep continuing the above, and also start adding in link directory submissions and forum profiles - and don't forget to write content that people would want to link to naturally.

All this has got me to a comfortable living online.
