...out of on page and off page SEO? Which one do the search engines put more importance on? If there is any inbalance. I ask because I've found a keyword to rank for which none of the top ten has the keyword in their url, title or description. But a 2 or 3 of the sites have 2000-2500 backlinks, according to market samurai. Anyone have any thoughts? Cheers in advance. Rob Harris |

You need both or you won't achieve best results. If you are lacking in one you will have problems.

Alrite, I have been trying to optimize a site, but the rankings keep on fluctuating. What should I do and what could be the reason?

You really need both to drive success. If your Onsite SEO sucks you will have a hard time with no matter how many backlinks you have. |

There is no comparison to be done with on and off page SEO. You need both. You will not have good outcome if one of this method is not done properly.

newbie85, In a short answer - Always do both!! once you have the on-page seo completely sorted it only takes around 5 extra minutes to do this for each page/post you build. If you make sure your on-page is bang on, then you shouldn't in theory need as many backlinks compared to your competitors. They are not properly optimising for the keyword and if you do, then you have good leverage. Then you need to build your solid backlinks. Look to reverse engineer the top ten and see where their high PR links are and see if you can get yours on there too!! Also remember that a new website may not just rank as quickly - Time is also a factor in SEO! |
