just 2 years and they have alexa 733, and only 3000 backlinks

how is it possible?

# of backlinks does not equal # of visitors. There are many ways to get traffic, SEO is just one way. I usually promote with articles and content so I always get much more traffic from outside the SERPs.

Also, the # of backlinks doesn't really matter at all. What if they had a backlink(s) from a super-authoritative site like cnn.com in there or Wikipedia or anything like that? 1,000s of blog comment and profile links couldn't compare.

but it is not only about Alexa traffic ranking
