Default Wait for my site to be indexed, it sucks.

So I created a blog on a product that still has plenty of time until release. Still I've added my url, bookmarked it to hell and submitted a site map. Tomorrow I'll add one way links from high ranking article sites still I knowing I can compete and still seeing no page rank info on google sucks. Yes patience is a virtue. Any tips are appreciated. Love.

Getting a pagerank will take some time. That is different than just getting indexed. Google only updates their pagerank stats every couple months or so. Sounds like you have a good gameplan though. Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the reply. Actually page rank is not a concern I just need to get indexed to compete for a seo'ed blog. So I'm impatient, thanks I love the support!

eightofdiamonds,

Google always indexed my blogs in just a few hours when I submitted RSS feed to some higher PR RSS directories. Add your blog feed to Feedburner, Plazoo, Yahoo, MillionRSS, Rss-feeds-submission, Feedage, RssMicro...

That is great advice for the RSS submission.

Make sure you are using tags and categories for your blog.

Also I hope you have used the right settings to have the page name mirror your search terms.

The way to tell if Google has found your blog is to type this into the Google search box:

site:yoursite.com

ok here is a little trick i use. I create a yahoo account that has a rss reader inside and i subscribe to my own blog rss. Yahoo will index you straight away, once you have added your rss to your own rss reader in yahoo, yahoo will continue to index your new content as soon as you hit post new blog post .

Make sure you install the all in one SEO plugin for your blog, this makes for great SEO. Submit your URL to digg.com and add RSS feed to feedage.com and other aggregators. Normally you will get indexed quickly.

I agree. I've got dozens of pages listed on Page One of Google without having "PR" using the techniques you've indicated. While I recognize the importance of PR for long term success, I think we sometimes psych ourselves out by becoming overly concerned with achieving PR. Lot's of factors are involved in achieving a PR4-6. You're well on your way!

Getting indexed and building pagerank are two different things.

You can check to see if (and how many pages) are indexed under your domain by entering the following into the Google Search box:

site:http://www.yoursite.com

This will give you a listing of the pages within "yoursite.com" that are indexed by Google.

I have had sites indexed within a few hours and pages that rank highly for their long-tail keywords within a few days even though they show 0 pagerank.

Hope that helps,

Jeff

What I do to get a blog indexed quickly is use pingoat to ping it after i've published a post then I social bookmark it to various sites using social marker. After that it usually gets indexed within 1-5 hours. I agree submitting rss feeds to high pr sites will help get indexed quickly as well.

I just made a site last night out of a domain I've had for a very long time parked and I am too waiting for it to be indexed. I have not done any attempt to back link so there's my problem, but here's the first link to it! 1909 VDB Cent - History Will Be Made In 2009

It takes a few months to get pagerank updated. I've had a domain page ranked 2 in about 3 months in the past.

hope this helps

I just made some research about the updates in Google pagerank and found a good site which shows when pageranks are updated. It is in German, but the columns are pretty obvious: "Art des Updates" means if it was a pagerank or backlinks update (so obviously it is also a good tool to check when Google globally updates the backlinks), "vergangene Tage" means how many days passed since the last update. The last update you find next to "Letztes".

Ohh, and here is the site: seo-ranking-tools.de/pagerank-backlink-update-history.html

Cheers!

Daniel

It may seem basic, but go to your wordpress privacy settings and make sure search engines aren't blocked. I've seen that mistake a few times since fantastico WP installs default to that setting.

First thing I will say is ... be patient! Second thing I will say... do a little blog commenting in your niche.
