Is it that I built a great website around a product that just doesn't have any interest. I would assume that if it was some weight loss product and I was on the first page I'd be getting sales. Split Piston review dot com. I believe I made every change you guys recommended. Is it just such a hard thing to sell that I need to forget about it and move on to something more popular. |

how many visitors have you received? how many of them click your affiliate link? We need more info for us to know where the problem lies.

Hi, Don't know what the monthly search volume is like for that product. I assume you checked and were encouraged to build your site. (?) Several things... 1. Your ranking will vary by geography and, I guess, what 'they' think you want to see. I'm on the east coast, US, and you are ranked #9 for split piston review. You're #14 for split piston. 2. But what is also interesting is there are "no" adwords ppc ads for either of those search terms. I can only take a few guesses as to why, but the bottom line is I really don't know. That 'could' represent an opportunity for you. But there are plenty of other sites about split piston. I don't know why they aren't. I would have to think the cpc is not prohibitive if there are no ppc ads. I would start an adwords ppc campaign just to see what happens. 3. Bear in mind G's kw tool is historically inaccurate. Maybe the numbers they show are over-estimated. 4. I gave your site a good look, and the headlines are hypey - definitely. Your site description in the serps has 4 - four - exclamation points after it. That's awful, man. All of your post headlines are too salesy and do not remind one of anything that is suppose to be an objective review. I think that would be a problem for any of your visitors. 5. Keep in mind what you are selling and who is in that audience. Online split testing software. First, beginners most likely will not bother with that. Many intermediate marketers will not bother. The people who are interested, and looking for a solution, are businesses who are serious. That also means the !!!! and non-objective-sounding headlines are going to be a complete turn-off. 6. Make it read like a real review site. Have you actually checked out this s/w? If not.. then that will probably come across because usually there's quite a lot that can be written for a piece of s/w like an online split testing app. 7. Fix the tone of your site... run an adwords ppc campaign and see what happens. 8. As an aside... I'd remove the discussion about your family in the about section and restrict it to strictly business and why you are promoting this product, etc. Just my opinion on that. Ken |

Well my friend, hate to say this, but getting on the first page of G. is not the only thing that counts. The product that you are marketing also counts! I think most people who have done research into split testing will go the google website optimiser route. It's free and it kicks ass, to put it bluntly. Whoever came up with this product may not have done their research before coming out with this, or may have felt that their product was better than big G's. They should go back to the drawing board and evaluate it. They should try and detail why they think they're better than big G's offering and relaunch or scrap the product. Does this thing offer anything more than G. website optimizer? and if so, does it make sense? Maybe they should focus on whatever else this product offers. Unfortunately most people will see the split testing part as the major part of this product. Just my 2 cents. Did not mean to offend the maker of this product. I think that anybody trying to come out with a competing product to big G. needs to have clear advantages. One of the toughest is that G. always enters the market as a free product or service, then later on may have a paid enterprise version. I think that's your real problem here, not anything wrong with your site, keywords or anything else. I wouldn't push a product that has such a strong 800 pound gorilla as a front runner, if I didn't have a competing product that was on equal terms or better. The first being FREE! ![]() |

| EDIT: Okay, I didn't see your comment about making changes. Your present headline is still a sleeper. I see you took my suggestion about the changing your mind thing. But it's still weak and needs to be at the top of the page, not the top of a post. The problem you're having is you're trying to sell from a dynamic page, one where the content is constantly being bumped down. You need to get your Blog in one sock and a real sales page in the other. And, it needs to be a compelling review. One where you first identify a problem, look everywhere to find a way fix it, and finally find the solution in whatever you're hocking. You need to make it come from your personal experience, make it engaging like you're talking to a friend. |

Thanks for all of the advice! I'll get rid of the exclamations and make some more adjustments. But I am tending to agree about the product itself. It was my first site after a google sniper 2 course. I got the offer from JV Pro, got psyched about it and built the site around it. I think I just chose a hard product to sell. I'm going to leave the site up, make the changes and concentrate on my lazyaffiliate site which was my second site, and see if i can get anything out of it. Thanks again gang!
