How do I go about identifying what a "Good" niche is. I guess my question is asked more correctly by asking what exactly constitutes "Good" when looking at potential markets and sub markets to dive into. I appreciate any clarity anyone can shed on this. -Steve- |

A "good" niche is any niche where there are lots of BUYERS who buy on EMOTION. However, a better niche is one where people are likely to buy MULTIPLE products instead of just one. (That way you can build a list and market several products to them over the course of a few days/weeks/months etc.) For example, someone trying to quit smoking might buy 1 or 2 products, quit and then stop buying products. Whereas someone looking to start their own business might buy a product on marketing, selling, pre-selling, affiliate marketing, list building, copywriting etc. It's one big niche divided up into smaller (but still relevant) smaller niches that they'd be interested in. |

First of all, i suggest you to do the keyword research with Google Keywords Tool. Second, a good keyword or a niche is very much depending on your preferences- There are a very high traffic keywords like "jobs" but competing with them is very difficult. In the other hand you could look for more targeted less traffic (and less competition) like "dog training jobs" or something like that.

I would also advise picking a subject or product that you love. Statistics have shown that entrepreneurs work longer and harder when they're passionate about their products and/or topics.

If you started a campaign with low competitive keywords and wrote articles about your niche with keyword backlinks, gained links from different websites that allow signature links, bookmark and ping your site then, the chances are that, after about three months you'd probably be on page one of Google for those keywords and get a fair amount of organic traffic. Thanks for all the advice, so let me see if I get this, say im looking for niches on amazon and im browsing potential markets by browsing the magazine section and looking at the different topics they have magazines on. How would I know from first glance that say for example "Home organization tips" would even be a reasonable market to pick and do research on?
