In regards to blog networks like Linxboss and others, wouldn't it be easy for a Google employee to create an account, track backlinks until they find most of the blogs in the network, then systematically devalue all of those blogs? This would explain why most of these networks start out strong and then gradually become weaker and weaker. It just seems like a waste of time and money if you are submitting content to these networks like Build My Rank or Seolinkvine and others, when Google could easily find all the sites in the network and penalize them. I've always had good results with blog networks so I am not putting them down, I have just always noticed the results are short lived because the blog networks are constantly losing their "power". |

I would agree with that. That is why a private network, while time consuming to create, is always going to work better. |

You can use free hosting blogs for your main site in order to have high rankings in Google.

Yes, almost any link scheme will eventually lose it's value and worth. It is just a matter of time

If I wanted to sell links and I built hundreds and hundreds of sites, all in different c blocks and IPs, how would it be "easy" for Google? Yes, they are the god of the internet, but are your saying that from hearsay or direct experience? When it costs $147 per month for some services, they spend some of the money building more sites and taking steps so that it CAN'T be "easy" for Google. And Jeremy said they links will lose value. Again, where is the proof? Crap links probably do. Networks setup incorrectly probably do. However if you have a network of sites with REAL value and "authority" to it why would the links ever lose value? People here have claimed to have single articles which continue to make them $ over a very long period of time.Would that not give some idea that links do hold value? I know of one service provider that has subscribers still with them after several years. I will not say the name to prevent thinking I am biased, or simply promoting them. I would guess that the subscribers are getting at least some positive results for that payment, equal to or greater than what they paid. Ultimately no service is perfect and the rankings DO fluctuate sometimes drastically. Unless you know of someone that works at Google dealing with ranking sites, we can only speculate on WTF they are up to. It's been stated that Google does not like automated tools IMers use. As time goes by these seem to get better and better at "fooling" Big G. If true, G can do testing to try and locate or guess if a system is automated. Any guess is possible as truth. Still only a guess. What ever you feel about G, like or hate, I can think of them as a shop owner. Kids keep littering on his store front, tagging graffiti, stealing his cookies and just making it difficult to run a nice bakery. He must take steps to try to eliminate if not totally stop the riff raff from messing with him. Many searches on G still return crap MFA sites. Sifting through that schlock wastes time. So, if you build hundreds of backlinks for the sole purpose of ranking higher, YOU are contributing to the problem. How many WSOs were for Backlinking automation software? In a perfect world, people would have sites worth viewing, make boat loads of cash from the sites and G wouldn't have to some times be such A$$Heads. | |
