Didn't think this was a good idea when I first heard about it. And I still think it's a terrible idea. It's going to be incredibly easy to exploit unless Google places almost no value on the +1 feature. I'd think the easiest thing to do is to ignore a certain # of +1's after a certain time frame. But even this can be exploited as the "jobs" can be spaced out to look natural. (1,000 +1's in 30 days! $5) |

| Now that would be a very good thing for my sites! I run download sites & If what you say is correct I'm going to force a +1 (like) per download. They will +1 the download or they won't be downloading anything at all. Bring it on! |

I tried to get the code from my Adsense account, the button sends me to a 404 page (wtf). I tried Chrome & Firefox, no go. Anyone have a +1 code example that they can post? [edit] Never mind, I found this link http://code.google.com/apis/+1button/ |

If I want to cook a steak but all of my friends are vegan, should I expect to see anti-meat eating proganda videos instead of a great tasting recipe? Are these +1 buttons going to be visible for all sites in the search results or is it just in-content like a Facebook Like? |

My guess is that we will see traffic from the SERP's spread out more evenly across page 1, as the sites lower on page 1 will have more incentive to manipulate +1's. But at the moment, I think the real opportunities will be in advertising. Companies that "get it" will have a huge advertising advantage in the short term. | |

I do not see any benefit in Google doing this. How many people log in to an account to perform a search on Google? Black hats will have a time with this one. Xrumer for link spam and X1 for +1 spam!

Google has always mentioned this is the new way it will rank sites, it's going to a turf war for folks paying people to like their sites, Google is assuming it would be more efficient for folks to build quality content sites than pay others to like their site to acheive high rankings

See the fact is, when Google launched something (its GOOGLE INC) it will definitely be massive and somehow put some google love for higher rank sites. Also, if you reallly don't want to update your 100's of wordpress blog posts manually with Google +1, then you should try it: http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...-warriors.html |

Some people are getting really hyped over this and getting ready to sell hundreds of nonsense WSos. People this is only going to be ONE factor. it doesn't mean you are going to be able to rank because you used some fiverrr guy to pushup your votes. look before you leap.

This will have zero bearing on seo. Although many will be taken in by the +1 Google Fiverr job, mark my words |

| EASY +1 Booster! Anyone that writes Wordpress plugins, could code the "Read More" button on WP to be replaced by the Google +1 button. Want to read the rest of the article? Press the +1 button to read the full article! I could think of plenty of ways to jack up the +1 counter for free. |

| Myself, I don't see a single thing wrong with replacing the "Read More" button with a social "Like" button. I mean, the reader would have had to read the snippet of text & assumed they would like to read the entire article, otherwise they wouldn't bother clicking the default WP "Read More" link even If social media didn't exist. I say it's a win win for everyone. I bought a new 47" LCD TV this last Christamas, the TV comes preloaded with about 50 free internet apps that will let you watch free videos. The catch with every single web app on this tv is: 1) You select the app. you want to watch videos on. 2) The app will let you watch maybe 15 seconds of video. 3) The video will pause & show an overlay on the entire TV screen, you have a choice: A) Share this video on Twitter B) Like this video on Facebook C) Stop watching the video, because you didn't share with the social sites. My point is, If social sharing is your thing, then forcing a "Like" or "+1" can help both the webmaster & the reader/traffic. Both sides get something for free. |
