Seriously.. I go to flippa everyday just to browse for entertainment. Do you see some of the stuff people buy for hundreds of dollars?!!! I can only speculate that all the complete newbs are showing up there with hopes and dreams of buying that first site and getting rich online and a bit too willing to throw their money into the wind. As for the sellers, it's like people are just lining up to steal money and it's working. And what a business model. It costs $20 just to list on there and then there's success fees? Flippa dude is raking it in. It amazes me how easy it is to make money online any more. Pick your snake oil and sell it to the next fool.... |

Lol, ![]() I was on Flippa last night & found an older site that sold for +$60,000. The site is in the same niche that I'm in, has less than 100 pages in Google SERPs. Very simple WP theme (free) & public domain content, lol. Less than 300 backlinks on Yahoo Explorer, seller said he had an email list of around 2k optins. None of his screenshots even matched what he was saying his sales were, & he kept telling everyone that pointed out the sales conflict that they matched. Maybe 1/2 the comments pointed this out & he still had over 30 bids. I think it had something like 30+ bids & sold for over $60k. My worst looking site in that niche matches his site, & my best site in the same niche smokes it in every possible way. I should sell out. |

The funniest thing I see on Flippa is when the seller will actually say this site hasn't made a penny yet, then they will say the site has the potential to earn thousands of dollars per month (or some other crap). LMFAO!! ![]() "potential" site:flippa.com This goof ball actually listed the exact potential dollar amount $2277/mth Potential , That's a lot of work for $5 (lol). |

| I could do it in a heartbeat. And.. I could be much more lucrative than most on there if you want the truth as I program all of my sites with original code using php and I can honestly say that very few sites on there look nearly as good as mine. It's called ethics.. or morals. I'm not going to sit back and steal money every day just to make extra money. AdSense is treating me just fine. It drives me crazy to see a 1 month old site claiming to have the potential to make thousands and listed for hundreds/thousands. Seriously???? Here's a perfect example. It sold yesterday for $300. If you do a search on that site and examine the source, you'll find reference to hotelscombined.com. Go there and click the affiliate info and you find that he just used the free private branding feature. I could copy that site in 30 minutes and do what he did (and now you can too) and sell it on there for $300 by throwing in some plr bs and giving a good sales pitch. I've also got old wprobot3 software. I could churn out 5 autoblog sites in an hour and they all seem to go for more than $100 each. Easy peasy. I am considering selling a few legitimate ones. No hurries though as most of my sites are actually making money. |

I've bought quite a few micro niche sites on there and have made my money back on most of them within 3-6 months. Some required a little back linking while others were on page one in Google the day I won the auction and still are. You will get burned on some, but that just comes with the territory. The owners don't care if you get screwed. |

| I'd say it's become more shady because there are way more scammers taking advantage of the service. I've recently been checking the listings on there and it's 100 times worse than it was a year ago when I was buying sites. Every second or third listing looks like a scam or worthless junk. Unless you know what to look for I'd highly recommend staying away from it.
