www vs no www problem

Hi,

I've been doing all my backlinking to www.mydomain.com, so how come yahoo site explorer has mydomain.com and www.mydomain.com? mydomain.com has much more pages indexed and some of the pages in www.mydomain.com show up as mydomain.com.

In chrome when I go over some links it shows mydomain.com then after a few seconds it changes itself to the www.mydomain.com version.. is this bad?

What's going on here, btw I am using Joomla.

I've found yahoo site explorer to be inaccurate. I'm not sure what's going on in Chrome.

For SEO Purposes always keep building links to the one you started with. So if you build links using WWW thann keep doing that. Don't switch up because they treat them as 2 separate urls.
