Default Goal Completed/Start Ratio

Goal Started is a statistic in Google Analytics and it is usually larger than goals completed.

If the ratio of goals completed to started is around 30%, what does this tell me about my Contact Us page? Does it need to be optimized?

How do you optimize a Contact Us page? Should I even worry about this number?

(My client runs a therapy service, so a Goal Completed = an inquiry, or a Contact Form sent.)

Yeah you should worry about that number.

You just said Goal Completed = Contact form sent.

So if you're trying to help your client generate leads, get Google Analytics installed right away and see where your conversion numbers are at, then go from there.

I have Google Analytics installed, that's why I am reporting the 30% ratio of Goals Completed/Goals Started.

My question is, what ratios do you see between these two statistics?

If 30% of my visitors who go to the Contact Us page actually follow through, is this a sign that I need to optimize the Contact Us page?

I would accept a simple "Yes, no one is tracking this statistic"...
