New Site + Exact match or Old Site + Optimised Post.... very confused.

Hi All,

I have been seeing a lot of exact match domain sites ranking for a lot of niches/keywords and I have built a few myself.. I also have a decently established FAQ type of site with PR-3 and wondering if I want to make money using adsense.. does it make sense to start a new site with exact match domain and try to rank it for the keyword or is it better to create a new SEO optimized page with exact keywords in URL on my established site and build backlinks to it.. i dont plan to sell these sites but use them for passive income. Have been very confused about this. Please advice... i think it boils down to how important is keyword-in-domain name vs keyword in URL+good PR.
