I have a new site that one day is on top of page 2 and the next day it on page 15. The site is 12 days old and it is driving me nuts, all my competitors sites seem to be pretty stable in the searches. How long does this go on for a new site? |

It's called the sandbox, and it can last a few days or it can last a few weeks. The key is to not worry about rankings right away on just concentrate on: - adding new, quality, original content on a regular basis - acquiring natural, good quality links from relevant sites in your niche - promoting your site to your potential customers/visitors one person at a time If you do these things, you'll get out of the sandbox as quickly as possible. How long depends on how well you do the three things I mentioned. |

I do no think I have been Sandboxed, the site is just jumping around daily on the searches, although my competitors are not. I thought sanboxing was when google no longer list you in the searches. I checked and I am indexed still, just moving from page 2 to page 15, 14, 16 thing.

All new sites are sandboxed, even if only for a little while. What you're describing is absolutely the sandbox. |

No worries, this is Google dance - common for a new site - and should stabilize within a 4-6 weeks. Keep building links at a steady pace without worrying too much...

1. Invest $1. Cut you backlinking by 50%+. Click here. Seduce Google. 2. Find tons of high-commission easy in less than a minute here. 3. War Room release on off-page SEO: Gege Robohop -"Incredible", say Warriors 4. Mindset matters. Look at my last year - nothing to do with IM.

Well, I have never heard that phenomenon referred to as the sandbox before! Anyway, 12 days is very short! I agree, at least a month or so. Actually it doesn't seem to happen at all if you build links nice and slow and steady, otherwise it's just something you have to live with for a little while. Really with any new site you should take a 'long'-term view - at LEAST 3 months to get a stable ranking.

focus on building quality content on the site. Right now google is looking at your site to view if it will provide quality nor junk. This always happens to my site. All I do is provide good quality articles, good on site optimization and start link building. I had a site drop off the first page after a week and returned 6 weeks later and still on page 1. Patience is the game here, all takes time Cheers Arturo |

I think you are facing google dance. This is a common phenomena. You need not to check your site's position alltime. Just relax and keep up the good and quality works to get quality links and unique content in your site. You will see good results surely.

Yeah, it is pretty disconcerting at first but I am used to it now. If you have other projects going on you can leave this one on the boil for a while, just adding links, content regularly or whatever. Like I say, although patience is not a virtue of mine I am finding it more effective to take a gradual approach over several months. These rankings rise pretty slowly, sometimes taking a month just to go from page two to page one, but I feel they are much more permanent that way. And yeah, I recently had a new site shoot to the top of page one. I enjoyed the traffic and the money! For about 3 days . (It's back there now, for good).

Arturo's probably right. Also, Google definitely likes fresh content. Try updating your site and pinging it. I don't have any experience with the sandbox so I can't tell you if updating your site will get you out or not, but Google usually likes it when sites get updated. Updating a site regularly isn't always necessary and it doesn't always work, but it's one of the things that can really make a difference sometimes.

The cold hard truth is that internet marketing is a lot like poker and the stock market. Some people can consistently make fast money as internet marketers, most people can't.
