Hi All, I have set up several Google Places for local business and have done fine in the rankings. Today I'm running into something I can't understand. Hoping someone here will know what my problem is. I have a "national chain" that wants to set up a Places page in 10 cities. I have set up three "places Pages" for three different cities. After I finish each page Google will only allow a Mailed Verification. No Phone Verification! ![]() What is the problem? All "places pages" have different physical addresses, phone numbers and emails. However, they all have the same website address. Any help or suggestions? Anyone ever run into this before? Thanks K |

I heard a month or 2 ago that they eliminated phone verifications entirely, too easy to game?

From what I've seen they have not eliminated phone verifications entirely, just selectively. _____ Bruce |

i think they eliminated the phone verification, since the company has physical address in those cities tell them to mail you back the verification mail

They have not eliminated phone verification. If you're setting up multiple places (on one account or otherwise) you will have to verify via mail.

I'm pretty sure that all Google Places listings are now mail verification only. Three different Places listings, three different cities -- they will just send each letter to the address you have listed for each city. Should not be a problem. You can have the same website for multiple listings as far as I know (I've never tried it). If not, I suppose you could have a subdomain set up for each city like chicago.google.com, losangeles.google.com and just have that subdomain redirected to the main site. |

Did a phone verification today. But they are getting FAR more selective on which accounts they'll do it on. Unfortunately, there is no way to force phone verification.
