I am using the Chrome SEO plugin to view some of my pages. My website is up and running ok, yet when I browse the Homepage of the site, the 'Http status' is showing - 403 Forbidden (the rest of the internal pages are showing 200 - OK. Inside the wp-admin panel, it shows as 302 - Moved Temporarily. Can anyone give me some advice on how to rectify this, particularly the 403 error. |

It's the homepage, I can't delete it. ie mysite.com where would I redirect the URL to, considering it's the homepage? |

Your domain is not your homepage. A domain is just a domain. It must forward to designated page in a designated folder. Maybe that 302 forwarding is forwarding it to a folder that you cannot access. Since I do all my sites with my host, cpanel, etc., I have no clue as to wordpress settings. See what happens when you type domain.com/index.php or .html See what happens when you type domain.com/ That may give you a clue as to what is going on. But where is the 302 forwarding? Certainly you can see that. I assume the site is hosted. You probably need to change the settings (permissions) on a certain directory. Did you just install any plugins? Paul |

Thanks for reply. Index.html = leads to page not found. Index.php = leads back to homepage, again checking on Chrome SEO this gives a 403 error. I thought that if you saw this error you could not access the page? I don't know where the 302 forwarding is heading, all I know is that when I access my wp admin panel, that is the status the Chrome SEO plugin is showing me. The last plugin I installed was Bulletproof Security, I might see if this had anything to do with it. |

Seriously, this is driving me nuts because my SERPS have taken a big hit, and I don't know just why the HTTP status code is like that. On homepage: HTTP Status 403 Forbidden Viewing the same post (when you click the post title): HTTP Status 200 OK I've googled the codes but I just don't understand it, because if the Chrome SEO plugin was right, there would be no content on the page (just the error message). But the page loads absolutely fine to my eyes. |
