High Number of Indexed Pages

Hi, so I've got ms (market samurai) and when i do a seoc or competition search it shows as competitors with high pages indexed. For example, around 5000 pages. Is this any cause for concern?

Other factors on page like their seo factos and no. of backlinks pointing to the particular page looks weak. So should I go for this keyword if its competitors have high number of pages indexed? Thanks in advance for your feedback

It depends. Having a high number of pages indexed does not mean that you cant beat that site in the serps. The only way that would have effect is if it took some good positions for several pages. But Google generally tried to give users different results from different sources, you will rarely see more than 2 of the same parent page within one search result.

5000 pages is so much. maybe try another source, try googling - links:competitor.com - and see what comes up. you'd know if they have 5000 pages indexed unless theyre doing smth that they can get banend for

Having 5,000 pages indexed means the site is looked upon as
an authority site. You be the judge as to how you too can become
an authority site, or maybe have to take a few crumbs.

Wikipedia, amazon, etc. don't get #1 because of backlinks.

	Just starting off my attempt at internet marketing. First venture is a teeth whitening site that I'm trying to monetize. Always appreciate feedback.
