I bought an aged domain some 6 months ago (aged by about 2 years or so) and started writing unique articles reviewing a certain line of Amazon products. This is a perfectly legitimate site, with pure and decent info for my visitors. The only thing that I do which isn't perfectly white-hat is build forum-backlinks, but I do this with ALL my sites and my other sites are all fine. Just last night my whole site disappeared off Google's radar. The pages are all indexed, but they aren't ranking for my keywords, or any keywords for that matter. Now I would understand that it could be the Google dance if it were just a few pages doing this, but it's my whole site! I've added recent backlinks to 6 out of 10 pages on the site, and instead of those 6 pages disappearing, the whole site has gone! The only new thing I did was to add a disclosure policy last night. Webmaster tools shows no crawl errors. So what's wrong and what do I do? o_O |

Just relax and give it more time. I noticed many of my sub pages dropped a little too and ive been backlinking them lately and they all target non competitive terms. The only thing we can do is wait it out. |

heh ..one of my sites which disappeared 4 weeks ago has now returned to Page 1 today. I had accidentally blasted it with a ton of links in one day. Just give it time. In the meantime, don't build any more cheap links. Try Web2.0 sites, article directories and some high pr blog comments. |

yep... there were some major algorithm changes lately that have mixed things up a bit. Just relax... one way to look at it is either it will come back or it won't. There's not a whole lot you can do other than wait it out, continue to do what you've been doing and see where everyone lands.

Same thing happened with my site. I checked 2 days ago, my site was positioned at #1. I checked it today and it's on #11. I hope its temporary.

Here are the stats to one of my sites for the past 6 months. It should give you a good ideal of what's happening with your site. I've not been SEOing the site since the last algi change was made a few months ago. Hope that Helps, Have a Great Day! Michael |

Thanks all for your replies. As selfish as it seems, it's good to hear I'm not the only one this has happened to. The flip side however is that some of my other sites, one of which had disappeared off Google's radar for a whole year! has just started to rank, and this is after I stopped linking to it for over 9 months! So yeh, some big changes it seems. |

Similar thing happened to me today. PR 5 website with 2k visitors per day dropped to last page of serps overnight. Now getting 100 visitors per day. $500 per day lost. This sucks. Wonder is its something bigger going on if lots of sites saw changes. |

same thing happened to one of our clients a few days ago. we managed to get it back with some high pr links apparently. of course we can't be sure if it was a shift in the serps, but at least our clients site is back to page 1, although a few places bellow where it usually was.

| Ouch! My biggest earner is down for the count after last night also but $500 a day is a tough pill to swallow.
