I heard about a few Google updates last night, so I'm not sure if this is attributed to that or not, but one of my websites that used to get very low CPC (.07 to .13 or so) is now getting clicks that are close to $1 today. What I usually make in almost a week on this site, I've already made today alone. Could this be a case of my website finally catching on and serving more relevant ads to visitors? It's only about a month old and ranks well for a decent keyword phrase that brings in about 50 to 100 visitors daily from Google alone. When checking to determine the average CPC, my earnings today seem to be more in line with what is shown on various tools, so it seems to me like this is a possibility of relative ads finally "catching up" and being served. What do you think? All I know is that I'll have a smile across my face for good if these clicks keep up! |

Eh, maybe this was just a fluke, as I see clicks returning back to normal. Anyone else notice anything off with their Adsense accounts?

My adsense revenue tripled the other day from what is normal for me, now it seems to have slowly come back down. Traffic and clicks stayed the same, just the CPC went up.

Google itself doesn't directly control the CPC, it is purely an auction where the winner only has to pay as much as the site it beats. (this isn't just priced based by quality comes into play also). Your jump in CPC will have something to do with a change in 1 or more advertisers. Without monitoring who advertises on your site usually it will be hard to find what changed. | |
