I have been thinking about this lately, The more I'd like to expand with my micro niche websites, the more I'm finding it difficult to keep track and backlink every website on a weekly/daily basis. Once I reach my rankings I can't stop backlinking right? Or I might grab a penalty. Is flipping my websites the only way around this? |

A penalty because you stopped backlinking? ![]() You can stop building links when your satisfied with your page ranking. If it drops a month or so down the road, build more links/pages. |

It depends on your specific keyword/phrase. Many sites I have once I get them to the top, since its not competitive, as long as I add some fresh content here and there I can keep them there. Other more competitive niches require regular backlink pretty much forever because your competition is doing it; the only real way to see is to go with it and if it starts to slide start getting some more work done. I don't think its so much of a G penalty for stopping your linking campaigns as it is your competition continuing their backlinking campaigns while you have stopped yours. You can also consider something like scrapebox where you can build some links without having to invest any time, especially as you get more and more sites this definitely makes things easier. |

No, it won't hurt your website if you intended to stop building backlinks. If you are ranked well, give it a full stop. If you start believing ranks are getting down, start building backlinks again. Regards |
