Hi warriors, I have 4 sitemap related questions. 1) What is a sitemap? 2) What is the benefit of creating a sitemap? 3) What is XML sitemap, HTML sitemap, ROR sitemap? 4) How can I submit my sitemap? 5) Is it important for my site's SEO? Thanks for replies.............. |

There is no benefit to a sitemap unless some of your pages are so deep in your site they have gotten lost. If that's the case, revamp your site instead of using a sitemap. That answers 5 of your 4 questions. Paul |

2. Giving the search engines a map to follow to further index your site. 3. xml is a better format for the google bot to read. HTML should be used on your site to let your visitors have easy access to anything should they need it or get lost looking for something. 4. Submit through webmaster tools. 5. Very important, it helps all your pages get indexed at a quicker rate. Hope that helps. | |
