Is there any evidence or proof that states: If you have a video on your google places, yahoo local, or Bing business accounts, the more they are viewed, it will increase your search rankings?? This is the email I got from a client....I NEVER heard this before.. "I want to post those videos on placement pages with Google, Bing, and Yahoo. People view them when searching, the search ranking goes up, and the more people see them. It is a circle of SEO optimization. " Anything back this theory? |

I don't believe the amount of views a video has really influences it's ranking that much. And if it does, it's only one of the many factors that it ranks for.

In a way yes. Google realized a while back that offering video results on a common search gave them and edge over there competition. In order for this to work the videos have to be properly named, relevant to the search, tags and hopefully recommended by the people who made the search. Cheers, Jaguar |

I can translate to Spanish all your articles and strategies. Opportunity + being prepared, but go ahead and call it luck. | |

Right I understand there are video search results. BUT having a video on your Google Places page and someone views it 200 times, this won't have any affect on the ranking of this place page....correct?

Sounds like a load of BS to me.. even if that were the case that'd be really easy to manipulate. I don't think number of views will affect ranking. However, Google will score you better if you have videos in places giving you a more complete listing. |

Check out animoto for easy quick videos. Takes maybe 5 mins to put together a quick 30 sec video to upload to places.

I haven't heard that if you have videos for Google Local Places the more viewers would view. But when you think of it logically, maybe in the sense it would help you. I was planning to do it, why not. A little effort would do. Try it too so we can find the results. |
