Who to trust- GKT or MS?

So i did some KW research and according to GKT- KW has around 2900 exact searches a month.

Then I searched it using MS- according to them it only has 110 exact per month?

Who should I believe?

Both. Google says 2900 searches on their search engine and MS says 110 on theirs. Did you think Google knows and would show the number of searches on Bing and vice versa?

None of both are exact. Montly searches should be used only as an indicator for potential traffic you may get. If GKT states 5000 searches / month, it could as well be 3000 or 7000 (on Google), but it surely won't be 500 or 20000.

Thanks for some input- It is just concerning to see the rather large gap between the two numbers- Not sure if its a good idea to pursue it or not- Most of the time the numbers are very close between GKT and MS so when I saw this it made me scratch my head

There's a lot more factors to take into account than just Google's traffic estimation, I recommend taking a look at the whole market itself...

I'm 99.9% sure that MS gets it's "exact search" data from the GKT.

Sounds like MS data is out of date.

How can it be "out of date"? Doesn't MS pull the data live from GKT rather have historic data on database, surely?! I mean think about it, how much data would they be storing?!

MS is who i would have to go with They really get their numbers from google make sure you have it on majestic search tho....

I didn't say they store all the GKT data, lol.

Almost all those type of software that return data are pulling data from 3rd party sources, including GKT.

GKT did a major update at the first of the year (2011). It's possible OP is running an outdated software revision of MS.

Google updates the Adwords API all the time.

Besides logging into your Adwords account will sometimes give different results than If your not logged in.

My MS is completely up to date- I think I will try running it all again- I will see what I come up with

I would prefer GKT! I think it is pretty newly updated and accurate to show reader the information!

I think GKT is also very inaccurate. Google does it on purpose to avoid the whole Micro niche spams for certain keywords.

SEO Book keyword tool is also a good alternative.

110 daily would be about equal to 2900 monthly.

I bet you had MS set to daily.
