Default Website Set Up for On Page SEO

Hi there, i am fairly new to this forum and i am hoping to rely on a few warriors for some recommendations/advice

I am currently developing a wordpress site based on affiliate marketing for SEO/free organic traffic and then promote some CPA Offers connected to the niche. (Nothing Grounbreaking).

I have based my rootdomain and front index page (staitic) around my main keyword, which is in the womens health niche and added original content.
Now this is where i still cannot get my head around 100%, so bare with me.
Obviously my main page is set up around my chosen keyword and then optimized which is fine, done.
I want to add more content and create around another 8-10 pages and drip feed them over time. And am wandering what is the best plan of attack to be most search engine friendly and improve SERPS
Now, does each of them other pages:
  1. Have a new related (relevant) keyword and optimized the same as the main page
  2. Do i use the same keyword as the main page, but different content
  3. Do the other pages not matter as long as the main page is fully optimized for the keyword
  4. Create pages or posts for content, what is the best?
  5. Overall what is the best setp for a wordpress niche blog with mutilpe pages/posts that will be advantagous in your SERPS Rankings.
  6. When doing off page SEO/backlinking etc, do i need to do this for all pages or just the root domain
I fully appreciate any tried and tested advice, i hope the above makes sense

Cheers
Michael

Heres what I do and I have a ton of experience with niche websites and wordpress.

Set up everything as posts except for your privacy policy, about, contact us, FTC disclaimer etc... which will be your pages.

For the home page just make a POST and make that post STICKY in the settings of your wordpress panel. Then this POST will be your home page.

Make sure you use all in one seo plugin and fill in every field.

Now when you add content just add posts and they will actually be individual web pages but they are called posts in wordpress, really they are webpages.

Make each post a 500 word article that is an LSI(Related) keyword to your main keyword. Check google wonder whell for good LSI keywords.

Make sure you use SEO automatic links for proper interlinking of your pages/posts.

And when you do backlinking backlink every post you create and also your root domain.

There is sooooo much more but that is the very basics.

On page SEO is getting so important with Google these days. It's always good to get as much info and technique as you can and then fuse it all together and create something unique for you.
What I have found that works is to optimize your landing page for the keyword phrase that is a money phrase.
For the other posts/pages, like was mentioned before, I may use the wonder wheel, but I would also use the straight keyword tool and find a related word that has a high search volume but low competition. This really isn't as difficult as some make it out to be. I would pick 3-4 keywords like this and create content around them. I would interlink each page individually since you don't have a lot of content on your site.
Since it's a health niche, I would link out to a .gov or .edu reference site on each post. Then I would optimize the post or page following the recommendations of the SEO vibe plugin. Meaning, I would have the targeted keyword in the URL, Title, H1, H2,H3 tag, and sprinkle the phrase throughout the content making sure that it's mentioned in the first and last sentence in the article/post. Also, the keywords need to be bolded, italicized, or underlined in the content.

Only when you have all this in place would I start hitting it with backlinks. A few articles on Ezine, start a wordpress, blogger, tumblr blog with the niche keyword in the URL and link to your money site. then, I would start promoting the backlinks to your backlinks with bookmarking or broadcasting the rss feed around.

As far as plugins go, AIO SEO is good, but so is the Yoast SEO, as well as Ultimate SEO. But, for sure I would get the cbnet ping optimizer and copy and paste Prelovac's wordpress ping list in the blog's ping function. This will help get your content noticed really quickly.

Hope this helps,
Good luck

Don't over-think and over-analyse this - it's really not that complicated.

First principle: Keep your site focused on your niche

Second principle: Use WordPress categories (which are WordPress' filing system) to group related articles on different aspects of your niche together. More info on how to use WordPress categories and tags here:

Optimise WordPress with Categories and Tags | WealthyDragon

Third principle: write articles that are well structured, using headings, sub headings, bullet points and bolding. This will provide a framework for each article that will make it easier for visitors to absorb and, therefore, more likely to be linked to. (Off-site SEO carries more weight in your search results ranking that on-site).

Fourth principle: Use an SEO plugin to set up a good Title and Description for each article. The other aspects of onsite SEO are taken care of by WordPress and your use of headings and sub-headings (see above).

Finally: write detailed, well-researched, accurate articles.

Cheers,

Martin.
