Anyone tried lower volume search terms + high CPC for adsense ads?

I've got a 3 term exact match url. There are 6,600 exact matches per month (not broad) for those exact 3 terms in that order.

The est. CPC is $137 per click.

What do you think? My main focus would be on the adsense ads. Any idea what this might generate, even ballpark? Or is the search volume just too low.

6600 exact match is not to be sneezed at.Congrats on finding it.

But you do need to rank that EDM (exact domain match) , do you have an understanding on how you are going to do that considering the competition you are facing?

Do not believe in CPC estimate as it relates to the search network , you want to get data for the display network

the difference is:

The search network adds are the ones displayed on the top and right hand site of the search results when you do a query in Google

The display network are the adds displayed alongside an article on a website or in Gmail.

Use the Google contextual targeting tool that you can find in your Google account (under reporting and tools) to get a suggested biding value, now subtract 32% to give you an estimated payout.

It is said that a first position place in Google would get you 35% to 45% of clicks.

Use the above sets of data to estimate your possible earnings.

There is more to the above, the knowledge that I shared here comes directly from a WSO that I bought recently called adsense revelations, look it up and buy it if you want to explore this in more details.

Warning : I have not been putting this into practice yet but I thought this could help you nonetheless.

please do not trust the cpc value from google keyword tool...its not accurate at all. I always check the keywords with spyfu as the cpc value is much lower and relatively accurate.

Have you looked at the competition yet? Obviously if you've found something that's relatively easy to rank for you should make it a priority. It's tough to tell exactly what that will make you, but I'd say this. I get excited about a 6,600 $3/CPC keyword, so if was $137/CPC it would become my top priority as far as adsense goes.

Anyway, like others have said, do a little more research, get a site up and start trying to rank.

Thanks. Yes I know I can rank for it, the competition is not severe at all. I checked spyfu and it said $16/click, what a difference! I checked again on CPC and indeed it is $137/click. So I guess it is somewhere between $16 and $137 /click.

Manuel gave you some sound advice.

Another factor to take into consideration is seeing if these advertisers are actually using the content network. The content network places ads based on themes rather than specific keywords. You need to go and find a site that is about the niche and see which ads are being shown there. Are those ads related enough to the content that a user will actually click on them?

You can have the highest paid ads in the world on your site but they are worthless if no one clicks on them.

Listen to the people here. The content network gets crumbs compared to
search. That $137 word on search is maybe $50. But your site would have
to warrant that top billing. Hardly likely for a new site. You would do
good to get $5. And then only half of that. I wish people would put this
get rich CPC nonsense to bed. Too many people come here claiming that
google is ripping them off. Actually, your site needs to be good enough
for high rollers to target. Otherwise, you get crumbs.

And even if that $137 keyword existed on the display network. The top
adwords users get a much lower CPC. Google rewards the best adwords
users with a lower CPC. That might be the ad on top. The lower ones,
which might pay more, would be down further. Google wants the best
performing ads. That does not always mean the highest paying.

I'm not the one asking the question. I'm very familiar with adsense and what is and is not realistic. But if my methods showed a keyword that is this profitable, that is easy to rank for, I'd be trying to get a piece of the action.

I never mentioned getting rich quick using adsense. What you're failing to realize is even if he gets 5% of the $137 if the keyword has 6600 searches and is easy to rank for, it's likely worth the time to go after it.

Whenever I see those crazy CPCs in GKWT I just assume it's a glitch of some sort. I would certainly assume that very few people are actually getting paid (68% of) that for a click, or whatever, for all the reasons mentioned above. Still, though, if you poke around other related keywords and still get a high CPC then it might well be worth pursuing, even if you got nowhere near those figures.

What Paul said though, even if those advertisers ARE using the content network, that doesn't mean they are spraying $137 ads randomly around the net! They are probably using very specific placements that convert for them, and that ain't gonna be your MFA or mine I think it's probably a general indicator of the value of the niche though, so worth exploring.

can you check a list of key words cpc on spyfu?
