Default You can't hide bounce rate from Google - Even without Analytics

Spotted this today from: Panda Cleanup: Maximizing Content Quality (According to Google) | Guest Opinions | ITBusinessEdge.com

Basically Google saying it doesn't matter if you don't use analytics, you still have to look at improving your bounce rate:

As always, Google won’t say exactly what it values in its algorithm. But all three SEOs who spoke to IT Business Edge said many site managers are leery of using Google Analytics on their sites, just because they would rather Google not have quick access to that kind of information.

They all also said that level of suspicion is pointless, in any case. “If they (Google) want to know about this, they are going to find out about it, anyway,” Sandler said.

Browsing habit data collected by the Google Toolbar could easily be extrapolated to determine metrics like bounce rate. Davies added that Google has filed for several patents for technology that tracks how long it take users return to its own search results after clicking off to a destination site.
