should I go forward or just wait

recently I've made a micro site and one of them got very impressive result.
30k local search | 90k global search / month with 3.2 mil search results. and the CPC is ~$1.5
All I did is got keyword.com and post article using its own press release for a few pages. and now i'm on #10 and some time on top of 2nd page. never build link. all SEO i did is ping.
the site got around 20 pageviews/day but never got a single click for a month.
What do you think about this I mean it's very great result but conversion rate is very disappointed.
i'm not good at build link myself if i'm gonna move forward i have to outsource. I want to try to be on top 3. so how many links I should make to achieve it? and is this site qualify to make $3-5/day?
