Weird one of my old old sites just became popular.... what to do?

I accidentally just discovered one of my VERY old domains which i did not touch AT ALL for like 1-2 years became PR 2 and even has few keywords on the bottom of google page #1.

What to do now?

I had built that site with old dreamweaver with old HTML... Is there a way to totally convert it to wordpress without hurting its rankings or URLs??

Do I start building backlinks? or adding articles? :S

Yeah you can but make sure the entire structure and URLs are set up exactly the same and you should be fine.

It's great when this happens, exact same thing happened to me last year. I converted it to Wordpress and then started doing adsense

Don't change any of its urls if you do convert it to Wordpress. The most important thing to do to increase your site's rankings and traffic is to build high quality backlinks using your targeted keywords as anchor text. Check out my sig for more information.

Did you find out how it became popular? Was it just other people finding it and backlinking?

How do you guts explain that stuff? What makes it rank higher?

This happened to me, not high PR but all of a sudden google decided to send close to 1000 people a day to one of my adsense sites, it went on like this making $30-$50 a day for about a week, then slowly went down and down and now gets about 10 visitors a day.

I've been trying to figure out how this happened and at least a part of the answer is that some of my articles, files, videos have been picked up partly by other websites and partly by those automatical content gathering websites, but in all the cases basically the links points back to my site.

Now i have to find as pretty design wordpress and figure out how to convert the site while keeping all URLs exactly the same...
I also don't know if I should focus on making more backlinks or making more content...
