I am implementing a large forum into my website and I want it to have SEO optimized theads. Can anyone recommend a forum? So far I have narrowed it down to #1. vBulletin with VBSEO. I've read mixed reviews about VBulletin however such as their original founders sold the company and they have lost their creative edge. And the fact that you have to keep on paying $xxx per update. And #2. PHPBB with PHPBB SEO. Ideas? |

| I've run several forums on PHPBB and VBulletin definitely think it's worth spending the money on VBulletin. When it comes to the SEO I don’t think the platform makes a massive difference. |

Invision is awesome. You need to think about usability along with SEO. A forum that looks crappy and has poor usability but great SEO may make the difference between profit and no profit - or community interaction for that matter.

vbulletin with out a show of doubt and with test runs against IPB vbulletin SEO wise is far superior especially when you spend the money on VBSEO, vbulletin can be styled to make it look pretty so functionality and stylabilty really isnt a concern considering you can make them both look practically identical with some nice CSS work. Another option you might want to look at it Xenforo, Created from the former vbulletin developers its completely HTML5 and from the results ( seo wise ) thats being reported at the moment its easily the biggest competitor to vbulletin if not better but with out testing it long term i really couldnt comment which is better. |

One more vote for smf. From seo point of view smf is better than phpbb.
