Hard to beat Consumersearch?

Has anyone had experience of outranking "Consumer search" for any term?

I have beaten them but boy are they everywhere. I feel that a little better On page SEO allowed me to beat them.

Depends on the topic, and how well you handle the on-page content and the on-page SEO. It can be done. Just like beating Amazon can be done. Sometimes it takes some time, though, so be persistent if that's your specific goal.

As an alternative, you may be able to find a related or similar keyword with good searches that is easier to rank for and dodge the whole issue.
