Default Mine and your 90 day SEO challange, trials, faults and finds of my journey

Greetings one and all

I'll try and keep this sort, because if like me, sometime's looking for some good in all the content on this forum can really make your eye's start to bleed.

What this thread is going to be about is the SEO work past and present on the two sites in the signature.

THE SITES:

The site on the right is the oldest site about 2 years old now. Currently showing 188 links on www. backlink check.com and are just about on page 1 of google for our top 5 keywords. About 5 months ago we hired an SEO guy from freelancer . com, on pay-on-results to get us first in the top 10 of google for 5 keywords while i worked on the new site. This is all most done now, there was a second landmark price for top 3 but We have decided to sack this guy off after we are in top ten, simple because this was a simple landmark as we weren't to far from this position anyway and its taken far too long.

The site on the left is about 6 months old, and is fast catching upto the first (another reason we have decided to sack the freelancer off). This site is currently showing 70 links on www. backlink check. com. We are on the bottom of page 2 of google for our top 3 keywords

SEO Works So Far

The site on the right

When i first started backlink i signed up to a few link exchange sites, this worked ok and got me to the bottom of page 2 for 5 or 6 keywords alone site was showing 200+ links. Next was some directory submissions and articles to choice sites and i purchased 'submit ease' an article and directory submission tool (in my opinion useless), before handing over the site to the freelancer, who in 5 months has now got 188 links but has me at position 6-14 for the choosen keywords!!!!

The site on th left

Initially while i was concentrating on getting the site sorted, product on there etc. I hired another freelancer . comster for pay on results top 10 in google for 3 keywords, which by the looks of thing he's doing by forum and profile links (not the best i know but those where the terms and its not to much money we are paying him). The product are on an this site has now become my priority site, I'm now back to putting all my time in to site promotion and jumped back on this in the last month.

Both sites have been subjected to some FIVERR gigs of late, there where some PR4 homepage links purchased, Some GOV, EDU link gig done about 3 weeks ago, still not showing links, some directories and bookmarks as well a article submission gig by seolasvasgas highly recommended on warrior, done about 4 weeks back, and i've just searched google with the article content, it show 60 links but all but two of these have broken links which point to inner pages of the host article site, apparently this is a common problem with auto-accepting sites, have to wait and see on the rest??????

My reasoning behind this thread

My SEO learning started with the first site, but it was only about a six months ago when i seriously abandoned all other ties and put everything soley into these sites and homed my understanding of SEO practices.

I understand there are alot of people in my shoes and what I want to do is help people in similar situations to me, people that have a moderate understanding of SEO, are running a website from home by themselves and due to time, money and person restriction are looking to outsource some of the work and nail down exactly what works

I've now come to the conclusion that although some SEO is like chucking turd and the wall and hopefully if you chuck enough some will still, maybe if your luck even stain but i've now decided to carefully check each methord used and look into its effectiveness

Purchased a THIS WSO gig, silver package, from ROCKSTARADI which he delivered on the first of this month (18 days ago). This is the service i will be looking into first, so far google is showing about 12 or 15 results under typing the articles content into the search engine.

IF ANYONE KNOWS OF A BETTER WAY TO CHECK ARTICLE POINTING TO YOUR SITE THIS WOULD BE GREAT

In the coming day the freelancers will be sacked off and I would like any suggestionfrom anyone on the way forword i'll be looking into WSO on here amounst other stuff and i'll let you know my findings

THANKS ALL

Hey there,

I've just been reading this thread...it sounds exciting. I also like you sites.

If you do consider going down the BMR route

1) you'd be doing yourself a favour as it is very effective

2) I'm a British BMR content writer and I offer my services extremely cheaply. I know you can't pm, so if you want to get an idea of prices, then send me a mail to TheSeoLeaders@gmail.com.

Alternatively, checkout my gig on fiverr (link below) and see the epic feedback I've got!!!

Looking forward to hearing from you.

DAY ONE......21/06/2011

I think i'll firstly hammer the same two, most searched and relative keywords for both sites and then look to diversify later. So here is how we stand on day 1 of the experiment in google ranking. Before anyone bangs on about two sites of my own battling each other it soley because each is dealing with rival suppliers that stipulate exclusive terms

SITE 1

keyword 1.........13th
keyword 2.........16th

SITE 2

Keyword 1.........18th
Keyword 2.........22nd

You may notice the second site has jumped a few places, possibily from THIS WSO gig, silver package, from ROCKSTARADI, but alot of stuff was going on untill recently so its hard to tell but all that has stopped now and i'll let you know any outcome of any works

SECOND SITE

Just had this gig completed Quality Press Release Submission & writing with Small,Medium and Big Pack(20Review Copy avail)>$15 by seo_submission so i'll let you know the results also

DAY 7 update
SITE 1

keyword 1.........12th
keyword 2.........13th

SITE 2

Keyword 1.........18th
Keyword 2.........19th

slight improvement on both sites probably down to the tail end of works catching up

REPORTS ON THE ABOVE FIVERR GIGS

wharzutility: I will create 20 backlink from .edu and .gov with index PR5-9 for $5 on fiverr.com Links where actually profile links which is probably what I expected though not exactly what is advertised, good for diversity but again not what I really wanted

mikemeth: I will spin and submit Article to over 1200 Article Directories, article submission for $5 on fiverr.com seemingly pritty good got a report with about 450 URLS, about 80 accepted and live, 370 pending that could be found through the providers software. the rest he stated are out there but unable due to there host URLS a bit mixed up (NOT SURE EITHER) but was happy with the initial list for $5

portron: I will create a 3000 backlink pyramid for $5 on fiverr.com was the third gig my friends, I'm in between on this one at the minute, probably just because it my first link wheel experience, all the links are from profiles, which probably offers alot more value than the first gig, all links check out and gig was done as promised. Just hope the chinese, russian and general random mix of links mean some juice somewhere along the line and the diversity pays of not gets fridged with the other cans of spam

We'll see

Slow going isn't it? Persistence pays off though, I have discovered, results do not come overnight until one morning you wake up with a smile on your face!

Sorry I haven't been back in a while, think maybe i got a little pissed of in the middle anyway its now day 102 ish but this was probably true of around 14 or16 days ago

SITE 1

keyword 1.........4th
keyword 2.........4th

SITE 2

Keyword 1.........13th
Keyword 2.........12th

Quite a happy chappy!!!! the second site was subject to work buy a some fok on freelancer.com which i sourced out to him while i concentrated on getting products on there. The job was to get site in the top 10 of google for 3 keywords, needless to say the guy was turd!!!! he did take it from page 3 ish upto 15th 16th but this was no great joy, so now i'll be concentrating on both sites

Anyway although the 1st site is sitting in a great position, looking back i think i could have definately got it higher! so to round of this post heres what i've found:

Fiverr gigs- hard to track!! certain gigs never deliver or if they say 20 x PR5 EDU link they'll be 20 deep profile links on poor pages PR0, that wont get indexed. the only gig i think was worth it was the article submission, least you can track in google how many gets listed which is probably somewhere between 200-300 which isn't bad for $5, other gigs i wouldn't bother!!!!!

Purchased a THIS WSO gig from ROCKSTARADI- great service, from what i checked plenty of links for the package i bought, lost the unique pen name for the article ince then so can't report how many but it was good enough for my to go back with a gig for the other site.

5000 article links from mattaclear This gig shot me and the one below shot me into orbit about two weeks ago before these two i was still at 12th and 13th, purchased this gig got 2,600 links to date off the first submission, got back to them and they have resubmitted untill i get those 5,000 great service, best i have found

BUILD MY RANK . COM- Awesome!!! believe the hype, started this service just over a month ago, started slowly maybe only 50 or so posts in the first month, but from just the first 5 initial posts the site started to climb and within a week of this and the above gig this site was at 8th or 9th of google. I laid of this for about two weeks as I simply did not have the time and i now have a writter working for me

HOPE THIS ROUNDS OFF THE POST OK

THANKS
