Default Quick question about domain names and keywords

Hi Warriors,

I gotta a quick question for you...one that's been bugging me.

Let's say you have a keyword which is "keyword reviews"

Now...let's say I want that keyword to be included in my domain name...

If i use www."keyword"reviewsite.com as my domain name, could I in effect be targeting "keyword" reveiw AND "keyword" reviews?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,

Travis

Hi, no you will be targeting "keyword"reviewsite exact match is just that, exact match. Now if you get links that say "keyword"reviews then you will get some credit for having all in title all in url ect and you would need to optimize your keyword density for that KW as well.

All my sites that rank well are for exact match. Yeah I have a few bigger sites with multi page to 60 page but the exact match domains are where it's at in my opinion. My opinion is is only based on building just over 300 sites, not like a few guys on here with a lot of sites. But that's whats worked for me. My sites that I want to rank for multiple terms are not my bag.

That exact match thing now carries less weight than it did before and you can bet Google will find other ways to make their results not as vulnerable to exact match domains.

So the answer is yes. It doesn't really matter what keywords are in the domain (although it helps). What matters the most is the on page optimization for said keyword, and the amount of quality backlinks with that keyword as anchor text. That simple.

I don't spend a lot of time on domain name exact match.

I pick my keywords after doing the research. Then if I can get the domain name to match it great. If not, that's fine too.

I wouldn't use a domain name that included a product name. You're stepping on someone's trademark and people don't like it when you use their name.

Even if you're out of reach of US or other foreign law, the product developer can still file complaints with your advertiser. And they just might do it. Lot of hard work and possibly cash gone.

I think that Google with further depreciate this over time. Still, if I can get a domain that matches my keyword and is not a trademark, then I of course do it. Many times it is possible to get the product name because everyone else is afraid to touch it.

I'm talking about big companies. A CB product developer will likely be less concerned as long as you present things in a favorable way.

I can't figure out why people are going after my name. Yesterday I saw someone targeting my name and then offering a link to a gambling site? haha I have nothing to do with gambling.

I could understand if I was famous, having a product selling well in the travel section hardly makes me famous but that must be why they are doing it. I certainly do't like it seeing a site named mynamescam.info grrrr

www.goodseomarketing.com/strategies.html

or

which one you think google likes?

i outrank any "exact match domains" cuz theyre worthless, it's the links that matter. people need to stop reading outdated ebooks on exact match domains

totally agree.

Also using a domain like that allows you to expand the site beyond a single three word keyword.
