How to check backlinks of your competitors

when it's time of competitor check we normally check at thier backlinks at yahoo site explorer. My question is how to check it between

1. backlinks from the original page for the keyword such as
amazon.com/.../.../keyword or
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/keyword

2. backlinks from the domainname for those site such as
amazon.com
wikipedia.org

Use SEO SpyGlass.

It will give you what you need.

go to alexa dot com and search their name it will tell you where they have the strongest backlinks from.

i am using Scrape box for it. It can give you backlinks for whole domain like blahblah.com and for individual page like blablah.com/blabla.html etc etc.

Well siteexplorer is awesome tool too

Scrapebox can be good for this, harvest all the backlinks from the domain and inner pages, then check the PR of each of them

I use Market Samurai for this. It works amazingly well. Not only can you see their backlinks, but you can also see what PR they are. This lets you then get the nice juicy links for yourself as well.

a pretty cool tool is majestic seo. with the free account you can only see 5 or so full urls (you can see full quantity figures), but the paid one will show you all competitors links (29£ per month though).

it does a good job of showing the links and shows nofollow links, link type, unique c-class subnets, etc.

Yahoo site map give the number of backlinks that one has but please somebody tell me what happens to those links because they sometimes keep on going down.

I often use yahoo site explorer in checking my competitor's bakclinks. But I would also recommend SEO spyglass, this tool is also good when it comes to checking the backlinks of your competitors.
