I have a question regarding adsense. This is my first time using adsense. I have had adsense on a webpage which I have had live for 10 days by now. I haven't had millions of visitors yet but I have had some clicks on the adsense. I am worried about google not registering the clicks. To test this I asked my friend in Iceland to click on one of the ads. Google Analytics did register his visit to my site but Adsense did not register his click. Am I misunderstanding something here or is Adsense not pay per click? Could this be a technical issue? Adsense just doesn't register clicks on my site because of technical issues? |

Google registers clicks and money as well as anyone can do on the planet. Many times, you may get a click that does not register. Clicking then clicking back or out real quick. I also believe country-origin is factored in to a lot of stats. Read that however you want to. Friends don't let friends monkey with their adsense. Paul |

Did you enter the generated script exactly as you got it from the adsense site? The "adsense client" info does not look right to me when viewing your page source. When I generate ads, that info is google_ad_client = "pub-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"; Yours does not have the "pub" in it and the account number is only 10 spaces which seems odd. I could be wrong - but I'd check that out. kay |

This is a CMS I'm using where I just need to insert the Adsense ID and then the Adsense appear automatically predetermied by the coding of the CMS. So I never touched the Adsense code itself, the one I got from google adsense to begin with. Do you think that may be a problem? Should I insert the code somewhere in the HTML anyway? |

Are you getting page impressions count in your Adsense? If yes, then your Adsense code is working.

True - but the impression should show on your adsense account report - seeing the impression on google analytics is not the same as seeing it on the report page. Just to be clear.

Your problem is the CMS. Bad idea to just insert your id number. I did not know people were still doing that. You want to go to your adsense account and generate the code yourself. Then place it where you want it. Not sure if google even recognizes ad blocks now if you don't. You need a CMS that forces you to enter the entire code if you wish to do it that way. I still wonder how you know you are getting many clicks. Any 3rd party script is not as accurate as google. Google will only register a click on a link, not near a link, and the person must stay on the site for a given amount of time. "Friends" have a habit of going crazy. Oops! Just thought of something. Some scripts allow you to enter the slot ID, as well as your publisher ID. Like I said above, the old fashioned way of doing adsense you could hand code it with size, colors, etc. I don't think you can do that anymore. Or at least be safe and place the entire code generated from your account. Paul |

It isn't a good idea to ask your friends to click on your ads, even if you think there may be a problem. If Google ever found out about this, you would more than likely lose your account, post haste. Now there is a record of it on the web, and Google may be able to track you down through this post. Not a good idea.

Make sure your wife or children do not click on your ads from another computer in the household. A roommate of mine did this to try and help me out, but google sees the exact same IP address for multiple computers.

In your source code - replace the current adsense script with the script you copied. That should do it. I'm convinced the problem is the CMS is adding a number but not doing it correctly. There are not enough digits and the "pub" has been left out - for adsense script to work it must be exactly right. kay | |

Be very careful with getting people to click on your ads... This is a sure fire way to get your account banned. It's possible that Google just don't recognize clicks from this country for the advertisement clicked. Not all clicks are created equal. Shannon |
