Do I link to my main URL or should I be linking to the individual pages? For instance, I have a site with 9 pages and each focus on a specific keyword/keyphrase. What would be the best way to build links to this site? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Build to each page of your website which you want to rank, if you only want to rank homepage then only doing backlink to homepage!

| It depends on your intent with the site but most people start to build links to the home page as Google looks at this page the most. They will then build links to internal pages of the site. Keep in mind Google does consider each page an individual rank...meaning an internal page targeting a certain keyword can rank differently than the home page for another keyword.

You definitely should build to both, with a focus on the main page. The Goog does like links pointing to other pages, though.

Each page should be a single focus to rank for a keyword. Your home page will end up ranking for more than one keyword. Internal pages only focus on one keyword. Start building links to your homepage for your main keyword you wish to target. At the same time send a few links to internal pages but not all. Focus on maybe two internal pages. Build up your rankings, look in your analytics to see what else people are searching for and finding your site and if those searches convert for the action you want. Then build links from the analytics data. Cheers Arturo |

I would advice to interlink the inner pages and concentrate more on the main page. The inner pages require less concentration as it will be getting the juice from the root.

Build links on every page. But you have to prioritize the homepage of your website for it will transfer the so called "link juice" to other pages.

Generally speaking, linking back to your home page is best. Each of your pages should have a link back to the home page, and in doing this you'd be off to a good start. This is a generic structure for most sites, especially if your keyword is the title of your domain. |
