6. Add one or two below the fold links to authority sites (Wikipedia, CNN, etc.) on the keyword you're discussing
7. Use a related posts plugin to bring in content from other posts on your site.
8. Add tags to your post and make sure your theme displays them.

These simple steps will help your content avoid a lot of duplicate content filtering and make it site as a whole look more legit.

Original content is always best of course but it is possible to use PLR content successfully so long as it adds something to your site. I also advise that you add an opening and closing paragraph and a unique title targeted to your main keyword for the article.

Transparency is one thing that is indeed rare because people believe that if they reveal what they know, they will not benefit monetarily. Steve's attempt can help that transparency can indeed pay.

This is indeed a refreshing experience different from the half-true or half-baked ideas many dish out in the forums.

Another worthwhile attempt at transparency I found in these forums was the Article Marketing 101... thread elsewhere. I am thinking of combining the two, article marketing for building links to the blog.

The best option is to write unique original and interesting content based on your keywords or get it written by a freelance writer for you. You can also use PLR and/or articles from directories. There is a post here somewhere on this thread that details the process I use for content.

But, the site that I am building is similar to the site is my sig and it is being built with HTML and dreamweaver so some of your steps will not apply to me.

Do you think it will be better for me to use Wordpress becuase the site is going to be based on PLR Articles, or can I use HTML?

Sure, you can use HTML. I still have a few purely HTML sites although I'm gradually transitioning them to WordPress or other CMS scripts. You can edit in the description meta-tag and related posts thing manually. What's good about doing this in WordPress (or a different CMS) is that it's done automatically for you with plugins which saves you a lot of time. This is important if you manage a lot of sites.

Ooops. I never even knew about the privacy policy rule and have adsense on sites that do not have one... I suppose that could get be banned if I do not fix it.

Steve, you seem to know what you are talking about and I am thinking of buying the cash cow book. The page did not really give any details about what is in it though. Could you be more specific? Sorry, I am new to this thread so you may have answered this before.

It basically demonstrates how to make an income from adsense using wordpress as your vehicle. Some of the information and techniques I use in this thread are included in the guide and some are not. Yes, we have all seen enough of those screenshots to last a lifetime. Fake or not fake there is no way now of telling which are genuine and which are not.

I am just an ordinary guy earning a reasonably good income online after years of trial and error (lots of error actually..) and if I can help other people reach their own income goals in any way I can then everyone is a winner!

Keyword research and linking strategies are in my opininon the most important.

This is the part of any website related business (be it adsense, affiliate, corporate marketing, etc) that requires most brainpower, methodology and a little bit of luck and where hitting the mark makes a HUGE difference to getting close.... close is never enough.

Any information on proven white-hat linking techniques is always worth something. Looking forward to it.

The coder did state he was upgrading to comply with new rule - but it is always good to check these things out for ourselves. We need to be responsible for what we put on our sites - from a plugin or directly.

but you know what ticks me off. having to update a crap load of sites.

it would be better for them to give us the privacy page that we can use by using a php include function and all they have to do is update that page and it'll update millions of adsense sites on the fly!

Yeah it sucks that you have to update your privacy policy just because Google made a change. Now that I think of it, I don't have a privacy policy on all my sites. I wonder if Google will even read the privacy policies to see if new text has been added to them.

It's quite clear now that you're not going to get anywhere near your target, Steve. But even if your site settles at, say, $25 a day, that is still a big success. And it's a success that can be replicated time and time again.

Is there something wrong?

Don't panic Oscar, I am 99% sure it is just a glitch in the Adsense stats which does happen from time to time or maybe the Adsense team view the clicks as invalid. It does happen and I am pretty sure your account is safe.
