Dear Steve.

I bought your book about adsense and how little I've seen, looks very good.

Recommended to use a wordpress blog and to my surprise I find that the facts in wordpress blogs are not properly in Internet Explorer.

I had not realized they are wrong because I use firefox and I have no problmes.

I wanted to know if there is a way to overcome this problem because 70% of surfers use Internet Explorer.

The URL to the challenge blog is in his signature and I believe there is a link to the cruise blog from there.

I agree that this thread should be closed down. It was supposed to be about how to earn $100 day with adsense using a blog. It I read this correctly, the money spent promoting this blog was way out of proportion to the orginal plan.

I say that project had mixed results "at best" and proves nothing.

Steve, why don't you just start another "Follow Me" topic and let this one die.

Actually, I think this project has proved a LOT. Despite the fact that Steve was unable to reach $100 per day within the time frame I still believe it's doable... and from nothing to $20 a day in three months is still impressive... most other warriors would love to be earning that amount per day from a single blog.

As far as I know, Steve has not spent one cent promoting this blog. The money spent has been on article writing services. He stated that he had spent $300 on articles (as the blog stood) and had another $500 worth that were yet to be posted. From that you can infer that he has posted just over one third of the number of articles he purchased. By the time those articles are posted he could well be earning over $50 per day. So the thing is, I believe it's doable... just not in the timeframe originally suggested. It should be noted that Steve also said that another two weeks of earning $20 ($23 actually) would pay for all the articles he had made and after that everything would be pure profit.

Having said that, I do believe that this thread should be closed to further responses. If for no other reason than the fact that people are STILL asking how the challenge went DESPITE the fact that the results are already revealed... I don't think Steve should be expected to answer this question constantly simply because people can't be bothered searching for the answer... do a ctrl F and search for 'Steve Crooks'. Perhaps one last response should be allowed... and that would be a copy of the response where Steve revealed the results.

Julia, is right in what she said... I have no power to close a thread by the way, I am just a mere warrior like the rest of you.

The average is over $20 a day now and I have been concentrating on new projects lately so I haven't been giving the cruise blog much attention. Rest assured, I will be pushing it all the way to $100, it might take over a year but I am in no rush now.

In fact, the big lesson I took personally from this challenge is that it is far better to make purposeful slow strides to a financial goal than it is to sprint there! The important point and I keep saying it, is.. have a plan and take action. The plan for a good, quality site monetized by Adsense is here, the action is up to you.

I just found this thread and have to say kudos to you and congratulations on what I would say to be a great success! Even if you did not achieve the desired result which was $100.00 per day, most of us would be very happy to get $20 a day out of it.
I have been fairly new to Internet marketing and have over 20 blogs out with adsense on most. My adsense income is only about a dollar a day, which is quite disappointing. One day I made over $6.00 which was a fluke.

My question goes all the way back to the domain name choice. If you cannot get a good domain name with the keyword of choice in a .com, does it hurt your SEO to use dashes in between words and still get the keyword phrase of choice in there? I always wonder about dashes in the
domain name and if Google or the other search engines rank those as well.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi this is a great thread. If it does get closed i would suggest to keep it and not destroy it as it has much info for us to follow.

Regarding the domain name with keywords for a .com domain, if you can not find one then go for a .net or .org they will do the trick. Im not sure about dashes in your domain.

For SEO purposes, using dashes doesn't seem to have a significant impact as compared to dozens of other factors. Not having dashes might be a 'tie breaker' if all else is equal but this would be rather rare.

If you want your domain to be brandable, then dashes aren't recommended since they aren't as memorable to your average visitor. However, branding isn't typically useful for Adsense niches.

That was an interesting read. pros like you may charge $$$ for such detailed course and will find hundreds of buyers but you just saved all the readers of this thread $$ and inspired them to earn too.

I like the advice about consistency and a slow-and-steady approach. IMO, this is what too many would-be marketers lack - the patience to move the ball forward a bit at a time. We get sidetracked by hype and try to throw that hail mary pass all the time. Takes valuable time away from the actions we deep down know are what butter the bread: content + links.

I think $0 to $20 in 90 days or so is impressive. That's $600/month. that's $7200/year. That'll make a nice car payment, or pay a big chunk of your mortgage, or monthly groceries. Good job, Steve!

Just a little update on my European cruise blog..

It seems that all my backlink campaigns are starting to pay off. The blog has now risen from the depths of google and is now ranked in the top 30 for my main target keyword phrase "European Cruises" both in the UK and US listings..

Even though it is still not on page 1 of Google yet, the traffic has increased along with my Adsense income as a result. I fully expect to get to page 1 soon and hopefully will see the big increases in income I have been waiting for!

I have also tracked your European cruise blog on google serps from page 7 to currently page 3 (i believe that the blog is yours cos you sign off as steve in one of the page..i shall not say which..

I got a few questions if you could help to clarify..

1. I noticed that you have used ezinearticles written by other authors..you have done it the right way by maintaining the author's bio and links. Does these articles get indexed on the serps with your page rather than ezine's version?

2. I have also noticed that there are articles in different languages with your name and links on other blogs..is this an attempt to gain traffic from different european countries? is it working? are those additional blogs from your own network or they are just other's who have copied your articles?

You are right steve. No one can become rich overnight. Slow and steady steps will lead to a definite success. Its good to know that you are earning averagely over $20 per day. In my opinion even thats a good amount to be earned from adsense.

1. The articles in question were written specifically for ezine and so don't actually appear on any of my sites. They are however being used on many other webmaster's sites.

2. This is my experimenting with using a translator plugin on wordpress. I do see some traffic as a result of using it but in very low quantities. I also don't think it has had any impact on my Adsense income either according to my adsense analytics.
