Hi all, I started my affiliate wordpress blog a while back and now I'm receiving e-mails like "A new pingback to the post XXX is waiting for your approval". If I go to that site from my e-mail, I find a link to my blog - which is, essentially, a backlink and it is great, right? Should I approve these pingbacks - is it good or bad for me? What are the incentives of those who send them? What happens if I do approve them and what happens if I don't? Thanks in advance |

Yes, it seems that sites are created by bots.I just don't understand why they do it? They add a link to my site and hope that I will approve and add the reciprocal link?

ahh blogspam... legitimate pingbacks are good, the spread the link juice around a bit.. they aren't anything TOO special but it is an easy way to get some links to your internal articles - although 2 way linking isn't all that awesome to begin with.. but it's ok |

They're probably not linking to your site. They probably use scrapebox and use trackbacks instead of blog comments. It just makes it look like they linked to you... | |
